Eric Palles has diverse experience in all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, representing businesses, individuals, and municipalities in civil litigation including breach of contract, business tort, employment, municipal liability, insolvency, property damage and personal injury litigation. Eric defends municipalities, police departments, and police officers in alleged Section 1983 and police misconduct cases in state and federal courts. He has also handled federal and state felony cases, state post-conviction remedies and federal habeas corpus proceedings.
Eric has counseled companies concerning regulatory, legislative, and risk management issues and managed a broad litigation portfolio that includes securities class actions, multi-district products liability, patent and trademark, employment, and zoning matters.
Eric is a graduate of Washington University (St. Louis) School of Law, where he was on the editorial board of its Law Quarterly. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
