Larry Kowalczyk brings over thirty years legal experience and is distinguished as AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has successfully represented private businesses as well as public entities in a diverse array of complex litigation cases in both state and federal court.
Larry has extensive experience defending a wide variety of civil rights cases, including reversed conviction, federal pretrial detention, officer-involved shootings, use of force and other constitutional claims. He has been honored to represent hundreds of police officers along with their respective governmental entities.
Larry has represented private entities in commercial and business disputes, including breach of contract, trade secret, tortious interference and restrictive covenant litigation. In addition, Larry has defended product liability and toxic tort matters including mass tort litigation, asbestos exposure, large drug recalls, medical product litigation, and clinical trials of drug testing prior to FDA approval. His construction matters have included contract review and drafting, commercial matters, and defending contractors in construction injury cases. He has tried over forty civil jury trials with a very high success rate.
Megan Monaghan brings over a decade of experience representing municipalities and law enforcement officers in complex § 1983 civil rights cases. Her extensive experience encompasses claims of excessive force, invalid search warrants, illegal search and seizure, false arrest, unlawful pretrial detention, reversed convictions, conspiracy, fabrication of evidence, and malicious prosecution, along with various other federal and state law matters. Additionally, she has successfully defended municipal clients in § 1983 political retaliation cases.
Megan also has a strong background in defending private entities in personal injury, premise liability, and wrongful death cases. She has a proven track record of success in jury trials. Prior to joining Mohan Groble Scolaro, Megan spent eleven years at a local trial firm. Megan is a graduate of University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she served on the Law Review editorial board. She earned her B.A. from Bradley University with a major in political science.
